Meet the pastoral staff and elected leaders who serve our congregation and guide our mission.
What Makes a Leader
At Wiley Heights Covenant Church, we believe that leadership is rooted in service, integrity, and shared purpose. Our church is guided by two groups who work side by side: a paid pastoral staff who serve the congregation day to day, and a Leadership Team elected by our members.
Our staff care for the daily life of the church, including worship, preaching, pastoral care, and the programs and ministries that fill our week. The Leadership Team, made up of members who volunteer their time, provides direction and oversight, nurturing the overall health of our community spiritually,
relationally, and organizationally.
Whether you are deeply rooted in faith or simply curious about what a church community can offer, we invite you to meet the people who help lead and serve at Wiley Heights Covenant Church.
Church Staff
Rev. Dr. David Arthur Johnson
Around here, we simply call him Pastor David. Though he holds a Doctor of Ministry, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Music, and was trained in the Evangelical Covenant Church tradition, he’s known first and foremost as a down-to-earth pastor who genuinely cares about people.
Pastor David has served as a Covenant pastor for more than 30 years. Before entering ministry, he was a classically trained musician who both performed and taught. His preaching is thoughtful, relatable, and focused on making Scripture meaningful for everyday life, whether you’re part of the church
family or still exploring what it means to follow Jesus.
As he often says, My heart for ministry has always been motivated by helping people bask in the amazing love, acceptance, and grace of God, and to thrive as the precious person God has called them to be.
