Church Staff

Pastor Mark and his family Mark Swanson was called to be pastor to Wiley Heights Covenant Church in September of 2008 and is excited with what God has done, is doing, and will do at Wiley Heights and in the West Valley transforming lives and communities, as people love God and their neighbors.

Mark was born and raised in Minnesota. He attended Covenant Bible College in Strathmore, Alberta, before attending North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. After some time working for a non-profit and doing community work in Chicago, he went to North Park Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity degree. Prior to Wiley Heights Mark served as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Family at Prairie Hills Covenant Church in Sioux Falls, SD.

Nancy Asbury Nancy Asbury enjoys office work and is excited for the opportunity to work with and help other people. She feels that the Lord brought her to this position at Wiley Heights, which she sees as more of a ministry rather than just a job.

She was born into a Christian family, and has lived in the Yakima Valley all her life. She graduated from Zillah High School. After that she attended a four year Bible College based in Selah, and upon graduation, she moved to Yakima. Both Nancy and her husband Don are active members of the Yakima Alliance Church.

Nancy and Don both love spending time in God's magnificent creation. Particularly in the mountains, where they realize how small we all are next to our creator. One of her favorite Bible passages, with nature and majesty in mind, is Psalm 121: "I lift my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from..."

Nancy would like to express thanks to the staff and congregation of Wiley Heights for the opportunity to serve in God's name.

Travis Randolph Travis Randolph joined us this year as our annual intern. He is in his second year at North Park Theological Seminary, located in Chicago. He follows in the footsteps of our previous intern last year with leading worship, preaching monthly, joining in the Union Gospel Mission ministry and learning the inner workings of a church. We are excited to have him and this continues our tradition of working closely with our denominations leading theological seminary in helping prepare young people for ministry in the Evangelical Covenant Church.
